Our Philosophy
Health-Choices Institute and Holistic Massage School leads the way in Holistic Massage Therapy training in New Jersey. For 24 Years Health-Choices has used the word “holistic” in its original meaning, recognizing the whole person: spirit, mind, and body.
The medical community, after 150 years of practice, is now realizing that the spirit that dwells in the body plays a primary role in our health and healing.
We believe, in accord with the medical community, that a good technical knowledge of the physical body is essential. Through learning Transformational Touch™ you will receive the best of both worlds. You will learn how to be present to the spirit of the person, while giving a highly focused, technically excellent massage.
An important aspect of Transformational Touch™ is our motto “We Teach Your Hands To Do Your Heart's Work.” In our Holistic approach it's not just what techniques you use in a massage that matters, but also how you apply those techniques. The “how” involves the kind of environment you create during your session so your client feels safe and open to receive your massage.
Two important components of this approach are “Mindfulness” and “Embodiment.”
Mindfulness means you are calm, centered, open-hearted, and fully focused on your client throughout the massage.
Embodiment means you are not just in your “head” but alive and aware in your body, connected with the entire Wisdom of your Being.
We, The Staff of Health-Choices, have all experienced this transformation through touch in our own lives and are willing and eager to share what we have learned with you.
